: MEP Storekeeper
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and organized MEP Storekeeper to manage the storage, issuance, and inventory control of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure that all MEP materials are stored securely, recorded accurately, and made available as needed for projects, while maintaining a safe and organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory Management:
• Receive, verify, and record incoming MEP materials and equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that stock levels are updated in the inventory management system.
• Conduct regular physical stock checks to reconcile with system records.
• Material Issuance:
• Ensure timely issuance of MEP materials and tools to project teams.
• Prepare material requests and ensure proper documentation for issuance and returns.
• Track usage of materials and report discrepancies or excessive consumption.
• Storage Organization:
• Arrange and organize materials systematically for easy identification and retrieval.
• Ensure that all materials are stored safely to prevent damage or deterioration.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure storage environment.
• Procurement Coordination:
• Liaise with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
• Inspect received materials for quality and quantity, and report any issues to the procurement team.
• Coordinate with project managers for forecasted material requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain logs for material receipts, issuances, and returns.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review.
• Ensure proper documentation of all material movements, including transfer notes and delivery receipts.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to company policies and procedures for material handling and storage.
• Comply with safety regulations to minimize risks in the store area.
• Ensure that hazardous materials are stored and handled according to safety standards.
Requirements:
• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in inventory or store management is a plus.
• Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a storekeeper, preferably in an MEP or construction-related environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and tools.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office applications.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with construction project workflows and material requirements.
• Experience in handling MEP-specific tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards for storing and handling materials.
