• Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Coordination:
• - Collaborate with project managers, architects, and MEP design teams to develop project plans that incorporate MEP requirements.
• - Review MEP drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project standards and requirements.
• - Coordinate MEP activities and schedules with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• - Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• - Conduct inspections to verify MEP system installations are in line with design specifications, codes, and safety standards.
• - Address quality issues promptly, working with contractors to ensure corrections align with project standards.
• - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local building codes and industry best practices, ensuring all MEP systems meet compliance requirements.
• - Site Supervision and Technical Support:
• - Oversee MEP installation at the project site, ensuring that the work follows established design plans, standards, and timelines.
• - Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to contractors and resolve any engineering or design challenges.
• - Ensure all MEP systems are tested, commissioned, and functioning optimally before project handover.
• - Budget and Cost Management:
• - Assist in budgeting and cost control for MEP systems, identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
• - Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with budget, reporting discrepancies, and recommending corrective measures as needed.
• - Review and approve contractor invoices and other cost-related documents related to MEP work.
• - Documentation and Reporting:
• - Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including inspection reports, testing records, and compliance certifications.
• - Communicate project updates, status, and any issues related to MEP systems to project stakeholders.
• - Document as-built conditions and prepare final documentation for project handover.
• Qualifications:
• - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• - 3-5 years of experience in MEP project engineering or a related field.
• - Proficiency in MEP-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) and MS Office Suite.
• - Strong understanding of construction methodologies and MEP systems.
• - Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
