Job Description

We are looking for a skilled MEP Engineer to assess MEP, HVAC, and FLS installations, identify non-compliance issues, and ensure adherence to industry standards. In this role, you will provide technical reports, offer costing advice, and play a key part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety across projects.

Key Responsibilities:



Inspection:



Conduct detailed inspections of MEP/HVAC/FLS installations to record the attributes and condition of the assets. Review of documentation including O&M manuals, maintenance logs and annual maintenance contracts. Investigate maintenance regimes and history by speaking to on-site personnel.

Compliance & Regulatory Assessments:



Ensure MEP/HVAC/FLS systems comply with authority requirements. Identify deviations from design and regulatory standards, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. Comment on adherence to sustainability and energy efficiency standards (LEED, Estidama, etc.).

Technical Reporting & Documentation:



Prepare detailed inspection reports, including observations, photographs, and recommended remedial actions. Maintain proper records of site visits, testing results, and compliance checklists. Communicate findings to team members, contractors, and clients, providing technical advice where necessary. Provide advice on remaining useful life of the assets and recommendation on costs for replacement and refurbishment. Identify potential safety hazards, inefficiencies, and system failures. Recommend solutions to resolve defects, improve performance, and enhance system reliability. Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to address technical issues efficiently.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering. Certification in Inspection, Quality Control, or MEP-related standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, CIBSE) is an advantage. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in MEP engineering, inspection, and reporting. Strong background in conducting site inspections, audits, and compliance assessments in the UAE or GCC. Knowledge of UAE & GCC MEP regulations, building codes, and authority approval processes. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and report-writing tools. Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting MEP/HVAC/FLS systems. Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure assets is required. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Familiarity with international and local codes (ASHRAE, NEC, NFPA, IPC, etc.). Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset - able to think laterally. Excellent report-writing and documentation skills. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
