: MEP Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer to oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of MEP systems for a variety of construction projects. The MEP Engineer will work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure that all MEP systems are integrated effectively, meet safety standards, and comply with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Planning:
• Develop and design MEP systems for building projects, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and lighting systems.
• Collaborate with architects and civil engineers to integrate MEP systems into the overall building design.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for MEP systems.
• Project Management:
• Coordinate and supervise the installation of MEP systems on construction sites.
• Monitor project progress to ensure that MEP work is completed on time and within budget.
• Perform site inspections to assess the quality of work, ensure compliance with designs, and resolve any issues that arise.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure all MEP systems meet local, state, and federal building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Review and submit permits and applications for approvals related to MEP systems.
• Stay updated on industry standards and changes in relevant codes or laws.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
• Provide technical support during and after the installation of MEP systems.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure optimal system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to MEP systems, including system failures and inefficiencies.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and team members to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations on the status of MEP systems for project stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians on MEP system design and installation practices.
• Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
• Design energy-efficient and sustainable MEP systems that reduce environmental impact and operational costs.
• Recommend and implement green building practices and technologies, such as renewable energy solutions and smart building systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., LEED, PMP) is a plus.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as an MEP Engineer in building construction or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design principles, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) and other engineering tools.
• Familiarity with energy-efficient systems and sustainable design practices.
