Job Title: MEP Engineer (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting Systems)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MEP Engineer with expertise in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, and Fire Fighting systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge in the design and coordination of MEP systems, ensuring that they are integrated, efficient, and compliant with relevant codes and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plumbing Systems:
• Design and specify plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
• Perform detailed calculations for pipe sizing, water flow, and pressure.
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and industry standards.
• Collaborate with the project team to integrate plumbing designs into overall building layouts.
• Provide technical support for plumbing-related issues during project execution.
• Electrical Systems:
• Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, CCTV, Telco and emergency backup systems.
• Perform load calculations and ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Review electrical plans and drawings for accuracy and clarity.
• Work closely with other disciplines to ensure the integration of electrical systems into the overall design.
• HVAC Systems:
• Design HVAC systems that meet project requirements and energy efficiency standards.
• Perform system sizing and load calculations for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Coordinate the HVAC design with other MEP systems and architectural elements.
• Provide guidance on system optimization and energy efficiency strategies.
• Fire Fighting Systems:
• Design fire fighting systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and suppression systems.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety codes, standards, and regulations.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems and ensure proper coverage in all areas.
• Review design drawings and assess risks to propose effective fire safety solutions.
• General Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review MEP technical submittals, drawings, and specifications for projects.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure systems meet design specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the overall project design.
• Provide technical support and recommendations during the design phase.
• Assist in project coordination, design reviews, and final handovers.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or a related field).
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a focus on Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, and Fire Fighting systems.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in MEP design (e.g., LEED, PMP, or others) are a plus.
• Skills & Knowledge:
• Proficient in MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
• Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire fighting systems.
• Ability to perform complex calculations related to system sizing and load requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with contractors and project teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Requirements:

• Physical Demands: Ability to perform site visits, inspections, and fieldwork, which may involve walking, standing, or climbing.
• Work Environment: Office-based with occasional site visits to construction sites.
• Travel: Occasional travel may be required for site assessments and inspections.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
