The MEP Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in various construction projects. This role involves collaborating with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to ensure the integration and functionality of MEP systems within a project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. •Design and Planning: •
- Develop detailed MEP system designs, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Create technical drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
2. •Project Management: •
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to integrate MEP systems into the overall project plan.
- Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
3. •Installation and Commissioning: •
- Oversee the installation of MEP systems on-site.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure systems are installed correctly and function as intended.
- Manage the commissioning process, including system testing and troubleshooting.
4. •Maintenance and Support: •
- Develop maintenance schedules and procedures for MEP systems.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel.
- Address and resolve any issues or malfunctions in the systems.
5. •Documentation and Reporting: •
- Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare regular reports on project status, budget, and system performance.
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license may be required.
- 10 years of experience in MEP design and project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
