Job Description

Job Summary:



The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a variety of construction projects. This includes preparing and reviewing technical drawings, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, coordinating with other engineering teams, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during installation and operation.

Key Responsibilities:



Design & Engineering:

Design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems based on project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications. Prepare and review MEP system design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet project and regulatory requirements. Select appropriate equipment, materials, and systems based on design criteria and budget constraints. Coordinate with other engineering teams (structural, civil, architectural) to ensure system integration and minimize design conflicts.

Project Management Support:

Assist the project manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring of MEP work for construction projects. Prepare and review project schedules for the MEP systems to ensure timely completion. Track and manage resources, equipment, and materials required for MEP installation.

Installation & Commissioning:

Provide support during the installation of MEP systems, ensuring that systems are installed in accordance with design specifications. Oversee testing and commissioning of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and other systems. Ensure that systems are functional and meet performance standards upon completion.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

Ensure that MEP systems comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Monitor and maintain the quality of work during all phases of the project, ensuring MEP systems meet or exceed industry standards. Perform regular site inspections to verify compliance with design, quality, and safety requirements.

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:

Troubleshoot issues related to system performance or installation and provide solutions to rectify problems. Review and address any design discrepancies, and propose design modifications or solutions where necessary.

Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare technical reports, project updates, and documentation to keep stakeholders informed. Maintain accurate records of system designs, test results, commissioning reports, and any modifications made during the project lifecycle.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure MEP systems are correctly installed and integrated. Communicate effectively with the project team to ensure timely decision-making and problem resolution.

Sustainability & Energy Efficiency:

Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient solutions into MEP system designs. Ensure compliance with green building standards and energy conservation regulations.

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in MEP-related fields (HVAC, electrical engineering, plumbing systems, etc.) are a plus.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in MEP engineering, with involvement in the design, installation, and maintenance of MEP systems. Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems design, installation, and maintenance. Proficiency with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM). Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Certifications:

Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE or equivalent) is preferred. Certifications related to energy efficiency (e.g., LEED, BREEAM) are a plus.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
