Job Title:

MEP Engineer (Construction Field)

Job Summary:



An MEP Engineer working in the construction field is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings or infrastructure projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems are correctly installed, function properly, meet design specifications, and comply with local regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Installation Supervision & Coordination:

Oversee the installation of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, etc.) on-site to ensure they are completed according to design plans and specifications. Coordinate with subcontractors and contractors to ensure timely and efficient MEP installations. Manage the daily on-site MEP work schedule, ensuring that tasks are completed within the established timeline.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Conduct regular inspections of the MEP systems during installation to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Resolve any discrepancies between the designs and on-site conditions by making necessary adjustments and documenting changes. Ensure that materials and components used in MEP systems meet required specifications and are up to code.

System Testing & Commissioning:

Supervise and perform functional testing of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring they are properly calibrated and operational. Collaborate with testing teams to commission the systems before handover, ensuring that each MEP system works efficiently. Troubleshoot any operational issues that arise during testing and work with the team to resolve them.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of MEP work on-site, including daily reports, installation progress, and any design changes or field modifications. Ensure that all relevant documentation, including as-built drawings, equipment manuals, and warranties, are properly stored and handed over to the client at project completion. Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to the project manager or construction manager.

Collaboration & Communication:

Liaise with architects, civil engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure coordination between MEP systems and other building components. Resolve any on-site technical issues by providing clear guidance to contractors and construction workers. Provide technical support and advice to the project team, ensuring the successful integration of MEP systems into the overall project.

Safety Management:

Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines on-site. Conduct safety inspections for MEP-related work to ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Train and supervise workers on proper safety practices while working with MEP systems.

Budget & Schedule Management:

Monitor the budget for MEP systems to ensure that the project stays within financial constraints. Help with resource planning, material procurement, and ensuring that all MEP components are delivered on time. Assist in identifying potential cost-saving opportunities during the installation phase without compromising quality.

Required Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field. Previous experience in MEP engineering, particularly in the construction field. Strong understanding of MEP systems, building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Proficiency in design and coordination software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar. Knowledge of energy-efficient systems and sustainability practices (e.g., LEED certification) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:



Professional certifications, such as LEED accreditation or PMP (Project Management Professional). Master's degree or additional certifications in MEP systems or related areas. 5+ years of experience in MEP engineering with a focus on field operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
