Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings and plans for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring the smooth integration of MEP systems in building projects. This position requires expertise in drafting, a strong understanding of MEP design principles, and proficiency in CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

• MEP System Drafting:
• Produce detailed technical drawings and layouts for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Prepare floor plans, riser diagrams, and installation drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.
• Create schematic diagrams, section views, and 3D models of MEP systems.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with MEP engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders to interpret project requirements and incorporate them into drafts.
• Ensure designs are integrated with other building systems and resolve any conflicts or issues between MEP systems and the structure.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as civil, structural, and architectural, to ensure that designs align with the overall building design.
• Review and Revisions:
• Revise and update drawings according to project changes, feedback from engineers, or client requests.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all drafts, revisions, and versions for documentation and project management purposes.
• Site Support:
• Provide technical support to field teams during the installation or construction phase of projects.
• Assist in the preparation of shop drawings and provide solutions to onsite challenges regarding MEP systems.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all MEP designs meet industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Keep abreast of changes in relevant codes and standards to ensure compliance with legal and technical requirements.
• Quality Control:
• Review drawings for accuracy and quality before submission to clients or construction teams.
• Ensure that the MEP systems are designed and drafted to be cost-effective, practical, and operationally efficient.

Required Qualifications:

• Educational Background:
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
• Certification in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools (preferred).
• Experience:
• 2-4 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman or in a similar role, ideally in the construction or engineering industry.
• Experience in preparing MEP drawings for both large and small-scale projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software).
• Knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Familiarity with building codes, industry standards, and local regulations.
