Position : MEP Draftsman (HVAC & Electrical)

Location : Abu Dhab i (Khalifa Park)

Responsibilities:

1. Review and Interpretation of Design Documents:

• Examine MEP (HVAC, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, Plumbing & Drainage, Electrical etc.) engineering drawings to understand project requirements.
• Interpret sketches, rough drawings, and specifications to create detailed and precise construction drawings.

2. CAD Drafting:

• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D Engineering drawings for HVAC, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, Plumbing & Drainage, Electrical etc.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D MEP Services Coordination Drawings.
• Generate plans, elevations, sections, and details of structures, including foundations, structural elements, and utilities.

3. Drafting Standards and Guidelines:

• Adhere to industry standards and drafting guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in drawings.
• Stay updated on changes in design and drafting standards.

4. Collaboration with Engineers and Architects:

• Work closely with civil engineers, architects, and other professionals to understand design concepts and make necessary adjustments.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions into drawings to meet project specifications.

5. Quantity and Cost Estimation:

• Assist in the preparation of quantity and cost estimates by providing accurate drawings and dimensions.
• Collaborate with the estimating team to ensure accurate project cost projections.

6. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals for construction projects.

7. Document Management:

• Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Prepare and update drawing sets for internal and external distribution.

8. Site Visits and Field Documentation:

• Conduct site visits to gather information for drawing preparation.
• Document changes and modifications to the original drawings during the construction phase.

9. Technical Support:

• Provide technical support to the project team and resolve drafting-related issues during construction.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project progression.

10. Professional Development:

• Stay abreast of advancements in CAD technology and industry best practices.
• Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

Education/Qualification

Diploma or degree in drafting, Mechanical engineering, or a related field.

Work Experience

Proven 10yrs+ experience as a MEP Draftsman in the construction industry. Should have exposure of both design and drafting.

Knowledge

knowledge of drafting standards, and familiarity with construction materials and methods.

Skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
• A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and compliance with regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve drafting issues efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,500.00 - AED7,500.00 per month
