MEP Design Engineer - Plumbing & Firefighting

:

A Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Design Engineer specializing in Plumbing and Firefighting is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of plumbing and fire protection systems in various construction projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. This role requires expertise in the planning, design, and analysis of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, and sewage systems) as well as fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, and alarms) to ensure they meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plumbing System Design:
• Design plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, sewage, and stormwater systems.
• Ensure that plumbing systems comply with local regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IBC, NFPA).
• Create detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for plumbing systems.
• Develop and analyze water distribution models, flow rates, and pipe sizing.
• Coordinate the integration of plumbing systems with other building systems (HVAC, electrical).
• Fire Protection System Design:
• Design fire protection systems, including fire sprinklers, fire hydrants, standpipes, and fire pumps.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to determine system requirements.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, local fire codes).
• Develop system layouts, including sprinkler head placement, pipe routing, and control valves.

Qualifications Requirements:

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience working as a MEP Design Engineer specializing in Plumbing & Firefighting in the Construction industry within UAE.
• Preferably an engineering degree or any related professional qualification in a similar field.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management and problem-solving skills.
