Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced MEP Design Engineer with a focus on Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of plumbing and firefighting systems for various building and infrastructure projects. The MEP Design Engineer will work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other MEP disciplines to ensure that all systems are designed to meet project requirements, safety standards, and local building codes.
Key Responsibilities :
• Plumbing System Design : Design and develop plumbing systems, including potable water, drainage, waste, and stormwater systems, ensuring compliance with local and international codes and regulations.
• Fire Fighting System Design : Design and plan firefighting systems, including fire sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, smoke ventilation, and other fire suppression systems based on NFPA, local regulations, and project specifications.
• Load Calculations and Sizing : Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, and fire fighting systems, ensuring proper system sizing, flow rates, pressure, and efficiency.
• System Integration : Coordinate with other MEP systems (HVAC, electrical) to ensure seamless integration of plumbing and firefighting systems into the overall building design.
• Preparation of Drawings : Develop detailed technical drawings, including layout plans, schematics, isometric drawings, and details for plumbing and firefighting systems, using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.

• Code Compliance : Ensure all designs comply with local, national, and international standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA, BS, local building codes, etc.), as well as sustainability guidelines.
• Coordination with Other Disciplines : Collaborate with architects, civil, and electrical engineers to ensure the plumbing and firefighting systems are fully coordinated within the building design and construction.
• Client Interaction : Work closely with clients and project managers to understand project requirements and deliver designs that meet expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Site Support : Provide technical support during the construction phase by reviewing shop drawings, addressing queries, and ensuring that the installation of systems is in line with the approved designs.
• Quality Assurance and Handover : Review all designs for accuracy and completeness, perform quality checks, and ensure that the final deliverables are completed to a high standard for project handover.
Qualifications :
• Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in MEP design, with a specific focus on Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems in building projects (commercial, residential, or industrial).
