The MEP Coordinator will be responsible for providing support for all MEP projects. He should ensure to track, highlight, and coordinate and issues nor concerns related to the MEP works to ensure that projects will be completed on time, as per the scope, specifications, standards, and project budget.
The candidate must possess expertise/experience in the following domains:
• Perform a variety of professional engineering duties in support to the MEP project works, such as calculations and computations and preparing project cost analysis.
• Participate in the review of contractor work activities and ensure contract compliance with contract obligations.
• Conduct and assist in the filed inspections of projects under construction, and provide resolution to construction problems. And to verify both work-in-progress and completed projects.
• Review drawings, plans and other work details submitted by external consultants and contractor for conformance with standards and work specifications.
• Recognized proficiency in technical and commercial judgments in variations, claims and new items. o Know the required permits and NOCs for the projects.
• Follow up pending application with concerned authorities to ensure services are received in timely manner.
• Prepare the needed communication letters with the concerned entities as per projects requirements.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
• Manage the day-to-day working, utilization, implementation and technical consultants engaged on client assignments.
• Report progress of projects, maintain and update project reporting, checkpoints and financial reporting to a high standard.
• Produce reports on each project at agreed intervals, and whenever substantive actions are required.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
• Review and evaluate regularly the progress reports submitted by the consultant/contractor.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Assist in:
o Delivery of MEP projects and ensuring delivery is within scope and budget.
o Monitor and ensure projects follow policies and standards.
o Assist in managing stakeholders in the project such as consultants, contractors and authorities approvals/NOC, and communicate effectively on timely manner.
• Analysis and Reporting
o Assist in managing the process of periodic management reporting on project status (i.e. schedule, costs, activities, opportunities and risks); ensuring full visibility of progress.
o Assist in conducting Risk Assessment analysis for projects and ensure any risks and issues are resolved promptly and effectively & Resolutions for major projects.
The candidate must meet the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
• Project Management Qualifications and Accreditations (PMP) is an advantage.
• 1-2 years' experience in similar projects.
• Good communication skills.
