Job Description

The MEP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities on construction projects. This includes coordinating the efforts of MEP subcontractors, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and maintaining project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working in the GCC region.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordination & Collaboration:

Coordinate and oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities on the project site. Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that MEP design and construction requirements are understood and met. Participate in project meetings to communicate MEP-related requirements and issues.

Design Review & Implementation:

Review MEP design drawings, specifications, and other related documents to ensure compliance. Ensure proper coordination of MEP systems with architectural and structural systems. Identify and resolve any design issues or conflicts with other disciplines and ensure timely resolution.

Installation & Quality Control:

Supervise the installation of MEP systems and ensure that they meet local building codes, safety standards, and specifications. Conduct regular inspections of MEP works, checking for quality and ensuring conformity with the approved plans. Ensure MEP installations are completed on schedule and within budget.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed documentation on MEP activities, including meeting minutes, site inspections, changes, and approvals. Report regularly on project progress, highlighting any issues or delays related to MEP work. Submit necessary documentation to relevant authorities as required.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:

Identify potential MEP issues early on and propose solutions to avoid delays. Address on-site MEP issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure that all MEP work adheres to local safety regulations and standards. Promote safety on-site and ensure that MEP team members are trained in the necessary safety practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years

of MEP coordination experience within the GCC region. Proven track record of coordinating large-scale construction projects with MEP systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of MEP systems, installation methods, and industry standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD or other MEP design software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
