What You\'ll Be Doing:
System Design and Optimization: Lead the design and optimization of mechanical systems and components for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, and other water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Ensure designs comply with Parsons quality standards, industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Equipment Selection and Procurement: Evaluate, select, and procure mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, turbines, and piping systems, considering performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness for both water and wastewater applications. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Technical Analysis and Troubleshooting: Conduct technical analysis, simulations, and modeling to assess the performance and efficiency of mechanical systems in water and wastewater treatment processes. Identify and troubleshoot issues, proposing and implementing solutions to optimize system performance and mitigate risks.
Project Management: Manage mechanical engineering aspects of water and wastewater projects from conception to completion, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and adherence to quality standards.
Staff Development: Mentor and coach junior mechanical engineers and technical staff, fostering their professional growth and development within the water and wastewater industry. Provide guidance on technical challenges, best practices, and project management methodologies, nurturing a collaborative and learning-oriented work culture.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry trends in the water and wastewater sector, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards for both water and wastewater treatment systems. Participate in regulatory inspections, audits, and permitting processes as needed.
Research and Innovation: Explore emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering practices within the water and wastewater industry. Collaborate with research institutions and industry partners to pilot new technologies and develop next-generation solutions for water and wastewater treatment.
What Required Skills You\'ll Bring:
Bachelor\'s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
Over 20 years experience in water/wastewater industry.
Over ten years experience in Middle East.
Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.
