Company DescriptionWe are constantly growing and are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Procurement Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE.Role Summary:The Mechanical Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for mechanical equipment and materials used in oil and gas projects. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in pumps, gas dehydration, desalters, separators, vessels, chemical injections, and flare systems to join our team for major projects in the Oil & Gas sector.What you will need to do:
Lead the procurement of mechanical equipment, materials, and services for Oil and Gas operations.
Review technical specifications and procurement documents for compliance with requirements.
Release RFQs and organize the evaluation and selection of suppliers.
Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Define procurement risk and mitigation plan to secure material and equipment supply to ensure continuity in the execution of the scope.
Develop and maintain good relations with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor the performance of suppliers and take corrective actions whenever necessary.
Be responsible for the Cost Control.
The procurement activities should be within the budgetary limits and cost reduction targets.
Review and approve purchase orders and contracts to ensure cost efficiency.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align procurement with project timelines.
Provide technical and procurement expertise during the design and engineering phases of projects.
Keep up-to-date records and reports of procurement activities, including supplier communication, contracts, and delivery as well as procurement activities, cost analysis, and procurement forecasts.
Procurement shall be done according to local, regional, and international laws and regulations as set by authorities and industry norms, for example, ASME, API, and ASTM.
What you will need to have:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management or other related fields
3-5 years of experience in mechanical procurement within the Oil and Gas industry is mandatory.
EPC experience will be considered a strong plus.
Hands-on experience in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps, gas dehydration units, desalters, separators, vessels, chemical injection systems, and flare systems.
Comprehensive understanding of the market, contract management, and establishing effective communication channels between vendors and suppliers.
Strong understanding of the mechanical equipment and materials being used in the oil and gas industry.
Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Supply Chain Management Certification such as APICS and CIPS will be a plus.
