Job Description

Mechanical Inspector/Piping required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Dubai.Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed inspections of mechanical systems and components to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
  • Perform tests on mechanical equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Record inspection results, maintain accurate logs, and prepare detailed reports on findings.
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Verify that materials and workmanship meet quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineering and construction teams.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, suggesting effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with other inspectors, contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless inspection processes.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, including writing comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Suggest improvements to inspection processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train junior inspectors and other personnel on inspection techniques and safety practices.
  • Ensure that inspection tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to conduct thorough inspections.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in industry standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in the offshore wind industry.
  • Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and/or Certified Welding Inspector (CSWIP3.1/3.2)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, engineering principles, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify even minor issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and interacting with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytic skills to assess inspection results and make sound judgements.
  • Familiarity with inspection software, report writing tools, and general computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM).
  • Strong commitment to safety and HSE regulations.
