The Role

Our Multi National Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced, Mechanical Inspector to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Mechanical Inspector on new build retail, commercial and mixed use build projects in the UAE and ideally have worked for a recognised design or engineering consultancy company previously, This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 5 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: o Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner. o Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice. o Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate action. o Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual / o QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments. o Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required. o Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. o Check and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines. o Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise.



Requirements

Mechanical Inspector Experience:

o Engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering. o 3-5+ years of relevant experience in construction supervision of retail, commercial and mixed use projects o Must have worked in a recognised design consultant or PMC company previously. o Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management. o Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment
