Mechanical Inspector

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical inspections and experience working with engineering consultancies. The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical installations, equipment, and systems meet all relevant codes, standards, and project specifications. This role involves reviewing mechanical design drawings, conducting inspections and tests, and providing technical support to project teams.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform thorough inspections of mechanical installations, equipment, and systems to verify compliance with local and international codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Conduct tests and checks on mechanical components and systems to ensure proper functionality, safety, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, discrepancies, and recommendations. Maintain accurate and organized records of all inspections and test results.
  • Provide technical support to project teams and clients on mechanical compliance issues, assisting in the resolution of any identified non-conformances.
  • Monitor ongoing construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address any issues related to mechanical installations and inspections.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance and control procedures for mechanical works.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Candidates MUST be immediately available and currently based in the UAE
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector in an engineering consultancy environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical codes, standards (such as ASME, API), and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Relevant certifications in mechanical inspection or safety are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with inspection and reporting software tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site and perform inspections in various conditions, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
