Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To prepare accurate and timely estimates for company projects from pre- tender to post tender stage. Maintaining consistent communication with all stakeholders internally and externally where appropriate to the estimating process to optimise the company's commercial advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

2.2 Ensure each tender is completed consistently and in line with company procedure.

2.3 Gain knowledge of actual installation time and review projects after completion to evaluate where actual is not in line with budgeted.

2.4 Have an understanding of Health and Safety and ensure that within the estimate there is an appropriate cost allowance to deliver the job safely.

To assist as part of the estimating team to successfully achieve the business unit's revenue plan by assisting with the production of accurate and timely estimates. Liaising with other employees within the company to identify, share and implement best practice.

Prepare each tender in a consistently structured and accurate format in line with company policies, standards and processes, with appropriate consideration of all foreseeable construction, technical and commercial risks.

The production of accurate take off / measures of tenders and subsequent inputting into estimating software to ensure that the prime cost of the project is fully understood.

2.8 Once project is inputted into estimating package, reviewing Prelims requirements for projects including Management, Plant and Access costs.

2.9 Managing the sending out of enquires, ensuring all relevant documentation are issued to suppliers.

Vet enquiries received in order to comply with the preparation and dispatch of accurate supplier / subcontract enquiries to the timescales dictated. Work with specialist subcontractors and assess quotations with a view to validating the information received and confirming that it is spec compliant.

2.11 Preparing Product Substitution and Value Engineering options.

2.12 List exclusions below the line before final submission if possible with the hope of reaching the final table.

Gain up to date knowledge of the market place regarding the level of pricing, competition and volume of work to ensure that relevant and competitive estimates are consistently prepared.

DUTIES

3.1 Ensure Tender folder is correctly maintained.

3.2 Read all tender documents before an estimate is started, and ensure any discrepancies between spec / drawings / tender summary are picked up.

3.3 Record and submit all RFI's in the correct documentation.

3.4 Prepare estimate in line with exact tender summary provided.

3.5 Review tender.

3.6 List any assumptions, clarifications, VE and conditions etc.

3.7 Submit tender and update SharePoint with all costs.

3.8 Record details on SharePoint.

3.9 Follow up tender and record on SharePoint.

3.10 Attend and participate in Departmental Company & External Meetings

3.11 Keep up to date with industry standards.

3.12 Develop your skills in line with agreed training plan

3.13 Attend Tender Handover Meeting when the project is Won

The Estimator who will have the in-depth knowledge of costs and allowances within the project must have the following information available for the Tender Handover Meeting

Tender Calculations

Discuss how Estimator interpreted the project

Quotations from Suppliers and any discussions between Estimator & Supplier

Contract Documents

Comply with all EHSQ policies and procedures as required.

Copy all relevant Tender information to construction folder

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years Project Engineer experience.

Knowledge of Electrical installations an advantage but not essential.

Bachelor Degree Level in Engineering or similar Discipline.

Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.

Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month
