Faculty Member in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in CAD/CAM or Manufacturing)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the British Applied College in Umm Al Quwain (BACU) invites applications for a Part-time/Full-time Lecturer position in CAD/CAM or Manufacturing, starting in February 2024. The ideal candidate should hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, or a related field. Prior teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable, and individuals with a strong passion for education and curriculum development are encouraged to apply.

The selected candidate will lead undergraduate courses in CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, and other core areas of Mechanical Engineering. Essential qualifications include expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS), advanced manufacturing technologies, and a demonstrated commitment to fostering active and engaging learning environments. Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate courses in CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, and Mechanical Engineering.

Design and deliver lectures, lab sessions, projects, and workshops that incorporate hands-on learning and real-world applications.

Mentor students to help them achieve academic excellence and prepare for professional careers.

Develop and update course materials to align with industry trends and technological advancements in CAD/CAM and Manufacturing.

Contribute to curriculum design and enhancement, focusing on innovative teaching methodologies.

Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, demonstrating effective program management and adherence to institutional policies.

Support research initiatives or collaborative projects in CAD/CAM and Manufacturing.

Engage in professional development to maintain expertise in teaching practices and emerging engineering technologies.

Perform additional duties assigned by the department or administration.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, or a closely related field.

Prior teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a strong focus on CAD/CAM and Manufacturing.
