: The Mechanical Engineer reports to the respective Maintenance Department Manager Superintendent / Section Head. The Operations Group consists of the following divisions: Habshan & Bab Plants, Ruwais Plant, BuHasa Plant, Asab Plant, Pipelines, Engineering and Technical Support and Production Planning Department. Client is one of the largest and complex Gas Processing & Distribution Company First-Of-Its-Kind in the world with application of modern State-Of-The Art technology. Client has four Gas Processing and NGL Extraction Plants situated at different locations in deserts and a single NGL Fractionation & Liquefaction Plant with products loading facility. Client plants receive natural gas from 113 gas wells (from 5 reservoirs with different gas quality) and associated gas from 602 crude oil wells (from 11 reservoir zones and 5 oil fields). The quality of gas varies during the day and also has seasonal weather impact. Main areas of responsibility for this position consist of supporting the preventive, corrective, troubleshooting, shutdown and major and minor maintenance activities, on various types of mechanical static and rotating plant equipment situated in designated plant site areas. The gas processing sites may contain some or all of the following types of equipment: Gas Processing Trains having vessels, pipework, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, coolers, separators, gas injection compressors, gas and steam turbines, cryogenic systems, diesel prime movers, electric motors, power generators, water treatment systems, wells, steam generation and aerial coolers. Some sites may also have repair workshop facilities, HVAC equipment, heavy lifting equipment, product storage facilities and tanker loading facilities and jetties. Contacts for this position would commonly be engineering and supervisory personnel, supervision of assigned subordinates, HSE and Operations personnel, materials department staff, plus contractor and outside vendor employees.
To ensure that all the plant and pipelines rotating and static equipment are maintained, improved and/or replaced for optimum plant availability to meet the plant integrity requirements.
To plan and coordinate Mechanical Maintenance activities with other departments and sections.
To conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and non-scheduled shutdowns and recommend problem resolutions.
To ensure effective utilization of the Maximo system in managing Maintenance and Breakdown activities.
To compile/provide input for preparation of division/department Capital, Operating and 5 Year Plan budgets, and monitor/control expenditure.
To ensure that all the required material, spares, consumables and tools are of the right quality and quantity and available on a continuous basis.
To participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the findings.
To enforce the implementation of Client Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among all division and department personnel.
To ensure development & implementation of Competency Based Training & Development programs, through use of Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and UAE Nationalization directives.
To ensure all the Maintenance activities are carried out in line with the requirements outlined by the Client PTW system.
