Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in heavy machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining heavy machinery equipment, ensuring their optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for heavy machinery.
• Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
• Conduct research to solve practical engineering problems and improve performance.
• Oversee and inspect the installation, modification, and commissioning of mechanical systems at client sites.
• Generate and review technical drawings, specifications, and design documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, and service departments to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
• Develop maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the longevity and reliability of machinery.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
• Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies and objectives.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Experience in the construction or mining industry.
• Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
