Mechanical Engineer specializing in Air Conditioning Systems
to design, install, maintain, and improve HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cooling load calculations, system design, troubleshooting, and energy efficiency optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Develop air conditioning system designs, including ducting, piping, and unit selection based on project requirements.
Cooling Load Calculation:
Perform heat load calculations using software like HAP, TRACE, or Manual J to determine the appropriate HVAC system size.
Installation & Commissioning:
Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Diagnose and resolve issues in air conditioning units, including refrigerant leaks, compressor failures, and airflow problems.
Energy Efficiency Optimization:
Analyze and recommend improvements for energy efficiency, such as selecting energy-efficient equipment and optimizing system performance.
Project Management:
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications for HVAC system designs and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
2-5+ years of experience in HVAC or air conditioning system design, installation, and maintenance.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar software for system design.
Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, psychrometrics, and HVAC components.
Certifications (Preferred):
HVAC Certification (ASHRAE, EPA, or equivalent)
Professional Engineer (PE) license (if applicable)
Work Environment & Conditions
May require site visits for inspections, installations, and troubleshooting.
Work in an office setting for design and documentation tasks.
Collaboration with construction teams, architects, and facility managers.
