Job Description

Draughtsman will be responsible for producing precise and detailed technical drawings for the fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, as well as proficiency in CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design : Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Technical Documentation : Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, including part lists, assembly instructions, and revision histories.
• Collaboration : Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure that drawings meet specifications and project requirements.
• Quality Assurance : Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Material Specification : Specify materials, finishes, and fabrication processes for each component and assembly.
• Problem-Solving : Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies in collaboration with the engineering and fabrication teams.
• Project Support : Assist in the development of prototypes and provide ongoing support throughout the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:

• Education : Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mechanical drafting or a similar role.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.) and strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems and propose effective solutions.
• Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes : Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Industry Standards : Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Software Proficiency : Experience with additional CAD software and tools is a plus.
