Job Description

We are searching for a skilled mechanical Design Engineer, responsible for developing and refining product designs to meet customer needs and company goals. use tools like CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, simulation programs, and prototyping technologies to create detailed technical specifications and oversee testing processes. Their role involves solving technical issues, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing designs for functionality and cost-effectiveness. They collaborate with various departments to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with project objectives. Ultimately, drive innovation and improvements, helping the company stay competitive and address market demands.

Responsibilities :

Design:

• Design and develop mechanical systems for vehicle modifications, such as bumper enhancements, structural reinforcements, and custom-built components for defense and tactical vehicles.
• Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for vehicle integration and customization.
• Design and implement armoring solutions, including ballistic protection, blast resistance, and mine-proofing systems, ensuring compliance with defense specifications.
• Select appropriate materials for armoring, such as ballistic steel and glass to provide optimal protection while maintaining performance.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects from the conceptual stage to production stage
• Working with Engineers, Customers, Suppliers, and other departments to provide product designs that meet the objectives of the project's technical requirements and ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Take measurements and conduct reverse engineering of automotive and industrial components

Fabrication & Manufacturing Support:

• Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet the company's standards for quality and durability.
• Specify materials and fabrication processes (e.g., welding, machining) that are suitable for defense applications and harsh operational environments.

Prototyping & Testing:

• Develop and test prototypes to evaluate design performance, including conducting simulations and stress tests to ensure structural integrity and safety.
• Modify designs based on feedback from testing and field trials, ensuring solutions meet operational and environmental requirements.

Project Management & Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, manufacturing, and project management, to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
• Provide technical support to field teams and customers, ensuring proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the designed systems.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Drive innovation by researching and integrating new technologies, materials, and methods to improve vehicle performance, safety, and cost-efficiency.
• Continuously improve existing designs and processes to enhance reliability, durability, and manufacturability.

Requirements :

• Degree / Diploma (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
• Proven Experience (5 years at least) in Vehicle Armoring, Armored Cabins, Defense related projects, Structural Models, New product development, Robotics, 3D modelling & Reverse Engineering
• Skills : Mechanical design and analysis, CAD modeling and drafting - SolidWorks, 3D scanning, Geomatics Design X, Fabrication techniques (welding, machining), Prototyping and testing, Knowledge of defense industry standards, Project management and teamwork
