Perform diagnoses and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Conduct repairs, rebuilds and installation on a wide variety of industrial equipment including conventional machines, compressors, pressing machines, boilers, dynamometers, cranes, forklifts, valves, pumps, lifting jacks, machine tools, test benches, sandblasters, sweepers etc.
Prepare hand sketches for various hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in preparation for modification and/or capability enhancements.
Perform diagnoses, troubleshoot and solve various interfacing issues that might occur between mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Assist the Supervisor, Maintenance to prepare job plans for various hydraulic repairs and installations using charts, past experience and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals.
Assist the Supervisor, Maintenance with identifying the required spares for hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance, repair and installation, and support them with generating the required purchase requests.
Perform all required periodic hydraulic and pneumatic servicing, and respond to emergency calls.
Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
Support other members of the Facilities Department in fulfilling their roles.
Perform other duties as required by their line manager and/or the Manager, Facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or a technical training certificate in hydraulic technology is required.
A minimum of one year of experience performing hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance is required.
The ability to perform hydraulic work, troubleshooting and conducting repairs as necessary using standard materials, instruments and tools is required.
Previous military experience is an advantage.
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
