Job Overview TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform the manufacturing functions related to metal working dies and tool making. They are responsible for completing all assignments to construct, modify and condition metal working dies and may fabricate new gages, cutting or forming tools and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications. They perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solve problems relating to unusual materials, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
Short Description
Understand the requirements of the project, including the desired part design, material specifications, production volume, and cost constraints. Estimating the cost of Mold production, which includes materials, machining, labor, and other expenses. This is essential for project budgeting. Coordinate in design review meetings to provide improvement recommendations. Applies Design for Manufacturing (DFM) techniques to product design. Using Moldex3D simulation software to analyse and optimize the Mold design, ensuring that there are no defects in the final product. Reviews designs with manufacturers to ensure that the tooling is appropriate. Review and recommend materials used in the tool designs. Well prepare tool designs from concept, to finished tool drawings using Creo, and coordinate with competence centres as a tooling liaison. Creating detailed drawings and specifications for all the Mold components. These drawings are used for machining or procurement.
What your background should look like:
Bac + 4 5 years as Mold designer Previous Mold Designer experience. Minimum 5 years Strong understanding of injection moulding process. Strong 3D modelling and surfacing design skills. Knowledge of GD&T Project and program management skills; ability to handle multiple projects. Proficiency using standard business software (including MS Office). Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Strong time-management and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
