Purpose and Scope: Perform material control services to include creating specifications and inventory items, creating inventory locations, receiving purchase requests from craftsmen, creating POs, receiving material, issuing material and disposal of it. Performs functions associated with internal logistics of supply and distribution of materials on a USAF contract.
Essential Responsibilities: Establishes a training program, to include NexGen training for assigned contractor personnel. The contractor shall review the training program every quarter, to ensure training is still up to date, with no missed deadlines. Ensures materiel is effectively managed and accounted for in the stores. Coordinates with shops to determine current and future fiscal year purchasing requirements and develops plans to maintain adequate NexGen IT stock levels. Routinely conduct inventory on existing warehouse items, remove items that are obsolete. Establishes a system to minimize accumulation and maximize use of returned material. Establishes local procedures to provide material for mission requirements during other than normal duty hours. Ensures procedures used during NexGen system outage are developed for the requisition and receipt of material. Ensures property accountability and audit trails exist for all material transactions, regardless of inventory management system used. Warehouses all BCE materiel and monitors BCE materiel storage-related facilities, including proper handling, storage and issue of hazardous and flammable material maintained in storage. Assigns warehouse location when new items are stocked in the stores. Loads Inventory items into the NexGen database. Procures, receives, stocks, and issues materiel to WTs and Work Groups (WG). Create Purchase Orders and Purchase Requests in NexGen. Coordinates with flight chiefs, superintendents, and shop foreman to provide updates on material control processes and procedures. Prepares reports and slides, and conducts briefings indicating status of stock levels, spend rates, availability of supplies, and tracking of orders/deliveries. Ensures all material is stocked promptly and accurately. Performs item and monetary accounting and inventory stock control. Computes requirement, determine allowance, research and identify supplies and equipment requirements. Performs operations involved in storage, inspection, identification, and receipt of property. Conducts inventories as required. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance. Knowledge of supply, finance, stock control, warehousing, purchasing, financial management regulations, requirements, procedures, techniques, and methods applicable to material acquisition. Ability to manipulate data, use MS Excel macros and formulas, pivots tables and charts, perform data analysis, and build effective presentations. Knowledge of civil engineering workflow, job, and work order scheduling processes. Overall supply and delivery requirements as required by Flight needs and NexGen IT capabilities. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. Be licensed in operating a 6K and 10K forklift. Ability to generate reports as required by management and the Customer. Experience with working and communicating with the Government or military personnel. REQUIRED EDUCATION: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Civil Engineerings NexGen IT system, Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), DEAMS, and data entry processing systems is highly desired. Experience in functions such as supply policies and procedures, Air Force property accounting, stock and inventory control, accountability and responsibility, , storage methods, warehouse control (receipt, issue, and disposal), material handling techniques, methods of preparing and maintaining supply records, manual and automated supply accounting systems, logistics principles and interactions (supply, maintenance, transportation, and procurement). Experience in inventory management a plus. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Typical military supply/warehouse environment with occasional lifting to 50 pounds, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
