Job Description

As a

Mason with Painter,

you will be responsible for performing both masonry and painting tasks. You will carry out repairs and maintenance to brickwork, walls, floors, and other surfaces, as well as prepare and paint surfaces to enhance their appearance. You will also ensure that all work is done to a high standard, maintaining both the aesthetic and structural integrity of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

Masonry Work:

Perform general masonry tasks such as bricklaying, stonework, plastering, and concrete work for repairs and renovations.

Surface Preparation:

Prepare and repair surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching holes, and cleaning areas.

Painting:

Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to surfaces in both interior and exterior areas of the property.

Repairs and Maintenance:

Fix structural damage to buildings, walls, floors, and foundations, ensuring everything is secure and safe.

Plastering and Tiling:

Install and repair plaster and tiles, ensuring smooth and even application.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain tools and equipment used for masonry and painting, ensuring they are in proper working order.

Quality Control:

Ensure all masonry and painting work meets safety standards, is aesthetically pleasing, and adheres to building codes.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure a seamless workflow and to address repair and maintenance needs.

Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate protective gear while performing duties.

Documentation:

Keep records of work completed, materials used, and any other necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven experience in both

masonry

and

painting

with hands-on knowledge of repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks.

Technical Skills:

Ability to perform various masonry tasks such as laying bricks, mortar work, repairing stone, plastering, and working with concrete. Skilled in surface preparation and painting techniques.

Attention to Detail:

Strong eye for detail, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and matches the required specifications.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and standing for long periods.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to diagnose issues and apply practical solutions in both masonry and painting tasks.

Safety Awareness:

Knowledge of safety procedures related to masonry, painting, and general maintenance work.

Tools and Equipment:

Proficient in using masonry tools, painting equipment, and general construction tools.

Team Player:

Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing tasks independently.

Availability:

Flexibility to work on weekends, evenings, or holidays, depending on maintenance needs.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or vocational training in masonry or painting is a plus.
