Job Description

Job Summary: The Mason is responsible for laying building materials, such as brick, structural tile, and concrete cinder, to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, sewers, and other structures. The Mason will work in various conditions and must follow established safety standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construction and Repair: Build and repair structures such as walls, floors, arches, pavements, and other edifices using bricks, tiles, concrete blocks, and other materials.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of masonry work.
• Material Preparation: Mix mortar, grout, and other bonding materials, and ensure the proper consistency for application.
• Setting Materials: Lay out work using levels, plumb bobs, squares, and measuring tapes to ensure alignment and structural integrity.
• Cutting and Shaping: Cut and shape bricks, tiles, and blocks using hand and power tools to fit specific measurements.
• Surface Finishing: Apply plaster and other finishes to masonry surfaces for a finished appearance.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a mason or bricklayer.
• Skills: Strong understanding of masonry techniques and principles. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure precision and quality in work.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to masonry work.
• Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with other construction team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,300.00 - AED1,500.00 per month
