An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced marketer to join Economist Impact as a Marketing lead. The successful candidate will be based out of the Dubai office and will be responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of cross-channel marketing campaigns to secure delegate attendance for an upcoming project within our Custom Events.
The ideal addition to the team is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of owning campaigns that attract, engage and retain audiences and someone who can bring forth a strong arsenal of marketing techniques and methods. This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious team who are genuinely customer-centric and committed to delivering the very best results for our clients.
This is a 18-month contract position with possibility of extension or conversion at the end of the contract.
Accountabilities
Develop bespoke marketing plan and strategy tailored to each edition, demonstrating understanding of local markets
Manage and own execution of the marketing promotion plan
Data selections: work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure each campaign has the correct data pool
Website management: work with internal and external stakeholders to build and manage the event websites
Copywriting for website, adverts, emails and other marketing collateral
Build and send email marketing campaigns in Eloqua
Work closely with the client to provide regular progress reports and to obtain approval of marketing collateral and copy
Brief and manage paid digital marketing campaigns
Own content creation ideas and execution. E.g. speaker interviews, vox-pop videos, infographic videos etc.
Responsible for vetting and making recommendations on registrations (with Marketing Executive assistance closer to the event if required)
Provide training to the Marketing Executive when required
Complete post show marketing reports
Present post event marketing summaries including, but not limited to; web and email analytics, delegate survey responses, print and digital advertising, press coverage reports from PR agencies, in a timely manner and in collaboration with Marketing Manager
Assist Marketing Manager to execute marketing tasks and manage relationship with the client as required
Experience, skills and professional attributes
Marketing degree or equivalent
Relevant event marketing experience (preference given to conference marketing and industry events experience)
Commitment to standards of excellence with attention to detail
Experience with client management and has strong presentation skills
Solid understanding of delegate acquisition, digital marketing and new media channels and the ability to explain (to non-marketers) how each of these works
Proficient with marketing and analytics systems such as Google Analytics, Eloqua/Mailchimp, Salesforce, Cvent (or equivalents) and back-end website editing tools like Wordpress
Actively listens to client feedback and is willing to amend marketing plans and work based on this
Familiar with the importance of data and how best to use it in order to target the right audience
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise accordingly and work to tight budgets and deadlines
