As part of our on-going collaboration with key clients throughout the Middle East and our ambitious growth plans, our Ports & Maritime team is expanding, and we welcome the opportunity to add further talent to Jacobs.As a Marine Structural Engineer within the Ports and Maritime Division, you will be working on several projects throughout the Middle East. You will be at the helm of designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of marine structures, ensuring their safety, stability, and functionality. The scope of work includes a wide range of facilities such as ports, harbours, docks, jetties, marine terminals, and other marine infrastructure.As a Marine Structural Engineer, you will have autonomy on developing concepts to detailed designs of marine facilities and will be responsible for conducting structural analysis to verify the integrity and stability of the designs under various operating and loading conditions. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to evaluate and select appropriate materials that can withstand the harsh marine environment, including factors such as corrosion, erosion, and biofouling. You will have full oversight on ensuring that all designs and construction adhere to relevant international maritime regulations, codes and industry best practices to ensure safety and compliance.You will work in partnership with the project managers and construction teams during the construction phase to provide technical support, address any design-related issues, and ensure the proper implementation of the engineering plans. You will be given the opportunity to work collaborate with other teams, including master planning team, geotechnical engineers, utility engineers, Infrastructure team, and regulatory authorities, to ensure a comprehensive approach to marine structural design. You will be in a position to prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation related to the design, analysis, and construction of marine structures alongside generating deliverables within the allotted schedule and budgets.Here's What You\'ll Need:As a successful candidate you will be required to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Structural Design. You will be able to demonstrate a competency in project-based experience in marine structural analysis and design in ports, harbours, marine infrastructure projects, or hands-on experience in the design of heavy industrial structures. You will be proficient in structural analysis software (e.g., Robot, Staad Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS) and a have sound knowledge of international maritime regulations, codes, and standards related to marine engineering. You will be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a have a hands-on experience in the design of earthquake-resistant structures. This role allows you to be adaptable and open to embracing new technologies and design methodologies and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within deadlines. You will be able to hone and display good interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills together with positive relationship-building skills.
