:Marine EngineerDubai, UAEParsons is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team to oversee marine engineering aspects of a landmark design and build metro project. This role involves providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, construction, and implementation of marine-related works, ensuring they align with project goals, international standards, and environmental requirements.The incumbent will focus on the interface between marine systems and metro infrastructure, particularly in areas such as marine viaducts, coastal structures, dredging, piling, and underwater construction. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless integration of marine elements into the overall metro project.The Marine Engineer is a key technical specialist responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and operational integrity of marine engineering element of a landmark design and build metro project, ensuring their alignment with project goals, international standards, and environmental regulations. Acting as the primary advisor on all marine engineering aspects, the Marine Engineer ensures successful project execution while balancing technical precision, safety, environmental sustainability, and cost efficiency.This role involves providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, construction, and implementation of marine-related works, ensuring they align with project goals, international standards, and environmental requirements.The Marine Engineer will focus on the interface between marine systems and metro infrastructure, particularly in areas such as marine viaducts, coastal structures, dredging, piling, and underwater construction. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless integration of marine elements into the overall metro project.What Required Skills You'll Bring:Technical Oversight:
  • Review and validate the design and construction of marine components such as underwater foundations, marine viaducts, piling works, and coastal protection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards (e.g., IMO, DNV, ABS), and local marine regulations.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of marine design proposals and provide recommendations for optimization.
Project Coordination:
  • Manage the interface between marine engineering and metro infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and addressing technical challenges.
  • Coordinate with design and construction teams to align marine works with the overall metro project schedule and milestones.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve issues related to marine works efficiently.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management:
  • Monitor the quality of marine construction activities, including dredging, piling, and underwater works, to ensure adherence to approved designs and standards.
  • Identify technical risks associated with marine works and develop mitigation plans to prevent delays or cost overruns.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure marine works minimize environmental impact, in line with project sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with environmental specialists to conduct impact assessments and implement mitigation measures for marine activities.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of technical specifications, designs, and construction reports for marine works.
  • Provide regular progress updates, technical reports, and presentations to the project management team and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for regulatory approvals and permits.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Propose innovative engineering solutions for marine works to optimize cost, time, and environmental impact.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in marine and metro infrastructure engineering.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Marine / Civil Engineering (Marine specialization), or a related field. A Masterxe2x80x99s degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is preferred.
  • Relevant safety certifications, such as offshore construction safety or HSE compliance, are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8xe2x80x9310 years of experience in marine engineering, with significant involvement in major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in design and build metro projects or similar multidisciplinary infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise in marine works such as piling, viaducts, dredging, and underwater structures.
  • Proficiency in marine engineering tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000).
  • In-depth knowledge of international standards and codes for marine and structural engineering.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical investigations and hydrodynamic modeling for marine structures.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, particularly with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
