Summary:
The Marine Chartering Executive is responsible for managing the chartering of vessels, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the chartering activities. This role involves liaising with ship owners, brokers, and clients to secure the best terms and rates for charters, as well as monitoring market trends to make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Chartering Operations:
• Identify and negotiate chartering opportunities for vessels.
• Gather and organize data efficiently to craft compelling tender submissions, maintaining a comprehensive record of tenders for future analysis and internal rate evaluations using market reports.
• Compile necessary supporting documents and streamline vessel technical and operational information.
• Engage regularly with key stakeholders in the offshore industry, including players, brokers, and agents, to stay informed about market trends and developments.
• Ensure precise referencing to charter party/contracts in all documentation.
• Prepare vessel technical and operational data for tender/proposal submissions.
• Consolidate weekly and monthly reports for streamlined reporting.
• Monitor contract statuses closely for accurate billing procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse departments (Operations, Crew, Technical, and Purchase) throughout pre/post-fixture activities.
• Act as the primary liaison for various affiliates, partners, and agents regarding tenders and proposals.
• Secure the best terms and rates for charters by negotiating with ship owners, brokers, and clients.
• Prepare and review charter party contracts and agreements.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
• Monitor and analyze market trends, rates, and activities in the shipping industry.
• Develop and implement chartering strategies to maximize profitability and market presence.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor activities and market conditions.
Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Address client inquiries, concerns, and requirements promptly and professionally.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service.
Operational Coordination:
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, and technical teams to ensure smooth execution of charters.
• Monitor the performance and compliance of chartered vessels.
• Resolve any operational issues that arise during the charter period.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of all chartering activities and transactions.
• Prepare regular reports on chartering performance, market analysis, and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Financial Management:
• Assist in the preparation and management of the chartering budget.
• Monitor and control chartering expenses to ensure profitability.
• Conduct financial analysis and reporting for chartering activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Minimum Diploma in Maritime/Business/Marketing or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
• At least 3 years of work experience, ideally within the offshore industry.
• Advantageous familiarity with key areas such as Marine Tenders (Standard BIMCOs CPA), OCIMF (OVID System), IMCA (CMID System), and HSE MS System.
• Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, proactive nature, and a positive attitude to effectively fulfil the demands of this role.
• Proven track record in negotiating and managing vessel charters.

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in chartering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to understand and interpret charter party contracts and agreements.

• This role involves both office work and occasional travel to meet clients, attend negotiations, and industry events.
• Travel is required to various locations as part of the job.
