The Sr. Manufacturing Automation Engineer will be responsible for taking the lead role in designing new Paint automated equipment at Lucid. The Automation engineer will design & implement paint cells & processes to ensure the system throughput, safety & quality meet the requirements for production. Responsibilities: Design & implement Paint Automated equipment to improve business processes, increase productivity & reduce costs. Evaluate & select best technology solutions for paint automation needs. Own projects through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept generation through fabrication and production bring-up. Work in greenfield & brownfield projects. Perform equipment commissioning & buyoff. Build SOW for projects. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. Knowledge of NFPA 70, ANSI RIA R15, ANSI B11. Design Equipment for specific throughput capacity & product requirements. Develop business case for capex projects. Verify Equipment Schematics, P&ID, Electrical drawings & construction layouts. Be a liaison between product engineering and manufacturing departments. Forge excellent cross functional relationships with engineering, suppliers, quality, and manufacturing (Body-In-White & General Assembly). Identify, trial and implement any new tools, equipment and processes that could improve quality and manpower efficiency. Profile Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in science or related field required. 5+ years in Paint Process Engineering. Experience in the automotive Paint equipment design/ sustaining is a must. Experience with Fanuc, DURR or ABB paint automation. Experience with sealer dispensing systems. Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments. Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia and Delmia. Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
