Overview:The opportunityLooking for a qualified Manager, Network Operations, at Core42 to design, control and manage the technical processes and operational integrity of diverse Core42 network infrastructure and oversee & coordinate the activities of the Layer 2 Network Operations Team while ensuring that Core42s products and services availability is within the defined SLA.Reporting to the Senior Director, Platform Operations, you will maintain and manage the DCI and DCN networking stack, its setup, administration, monitoring and configuration, disaster recovery and routine updates. You will play a leading role in supporting the operations and evolution of innovative, new-age cloud solutions at Core42, one of the UAEs fastest growing, high-tech, AI-centric organisations.Core42 is the UAEs national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI, combining G42 Groups expertise across multiple technology disciplines into a single platform for public sector and large enterprise transformations. Responsibilities:People Management
Propose and communicate teams and individual KPIs for the L2 Network Operations team and ensure they are in line with department, business unit and Core42 strategic goals.
Oversee the performance of the L2 Network Operations team, provide direction and guidance to the employees on achieving the teams objectives.
Engage with the department head to identify opportunities to improve the teams performance.
Provide constructive feedback to direct reports and provide inputs to the department head on performance of employees.
Coach & develop the team to achieve their potential.
Functional
Oversee the functioning of cloud network, data, platform, and technical offerings.
In collaboration with the Network Engineering department, roll out new infrastructure to improve customer success across the Core42 platforms.
Manage the report of infrastructure incidents and follow standard procedures for the escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Monitor the change management, incident management and problem management processes vis-\xc3\xa0-vis response time, quality, productivity, and ticket handling.
Collaborate with information security and operations team to identify and implement platform gaps.
Support in the process of identifying sections technology-related needs that helps drive automation within the section and direct line of work.
Apply analytical, research and problem-solving skills across various systems and situations, including those that may be unfamiliar, to address critical issues in line with Core42s code of ethics, policies, and procedures.
Work closely with the product owners and managers to ensure that systems are production ready.
Provide input towards budget preparation for the section to the department head.
OrganisationalGovernance
Maintain awareness and adherence to the department/sections policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance of the team to the guidelines defined by division/departments, such as, HR, legal, risk and quality assurance in addition to Core42s framework and DoA.
Participate in the periodic audit of established policies and procedures.
Management Reporting
Contribute to the development of periodic reports, as requested by the department head.
Propose and recommend remedial activities to manage any quality or non-compliance issues that arise during the review of periodic reports.
Personal Professional Development
Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work and in line with Core42s values/behaviors.
Engage in the performance appraisal process and reflect on the feedback and recommendations provided by the line manager for development.
Qualifications:To qualify, you must haveDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. * Minimum 5 years experience in network operations management, preferable in a diverse technological environment (cloud and on-premises infrastructure).
A successful record of leading and cultivating a motivated and positive team culture, along with a commitment to continuous improvement within Technology Operations (highly desirable).
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and best practices.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of technical professionals.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal teams, external vendors, and executive stakeholders.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, NRS II, cloud-related) are a plus.
