:Reporting to Senior Manager - Legal, the role shall be primarily responsible for providing timely and pragmatic legal support across the business (both for corporate office functions and healthcare facilities) to ensure the business can pursue dynamic and commercially effective outcomes, while always ensuring compliance with industry leading legal and governance practices. Furthermore, shall take ownership of solving legal issues; provide timely, succinct, clear and accurate advice and legal documentation.A highly analytical mid-level (2-4 PQE) lawyer with experience working in a reputable law firm, ideally with some time also spent in-house (or on secondment). Some GCC regional experience is preferable but is not essential. This role would suit someone seeking to make a career in-house with an interest in the day-to-day operations of a healthcare company.Responsibilities:
Give accurate, succinct, clear and timely counsel to facility and corporate executives and managers on a variety of legal topics (including, without limitation, corporate governance, commercial contracting, data protection, real estate, healthcare regulations)
Take an active role in researching, managing and advising on legal aspects related to the group\'s transformation projects
Draft, lead negotiations and finalise contracts, memoranda of understanding, heads of terms, while always ensuring reasoned risk allocation and protection of the business\' commercial, legal and reputational interests
Project manage complex legal matters with multiple stakeholders and interests, including corporate governance requirements and contract reviews
Management of external counsel to ensure timely delivery of agreed deliverables within agreed budgets
Present to the business on key legal, risk management and contracting topics
Maintain current knowledge of alterations and introductions of new UAE laws
Escalates issues to other colleagues within the Legal department as appropriate
Qualifications:Education and Certification
Qualifying law degree, either common law or civil law jurisdiction (e.g. LLB, JD)
Maintains (or recently lapsed with a desire to renew) licence to practice law in jurisdiction where legal profession is formally regulated
Knowledge and Skills
High degree of professional ethics and integrity
Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
Fluent spoken and written English
High working proficiency in spoken and written Arabic desirable, but not essential
Strong communicator, presenter and collaborator who can simplify complex issues to lay colleagues
Good working knowledge of UAE laws, including ADGM laws (or ability and willingness to quickly upskill on these)
Awareness of key issues in commercial contracts
Ability to manage execution processes for legal documentation
Strong project management skills, taking ownership of tasks through to completion
Highly organized and goal oriented, with a can-do attitude
High proficiency with MS Office, including Power Point
Healthcare industry experience helpful but not essential
Ability to effectively operate in a fast paced, multi-cultural, multi-stakeholder large corporate environment
Experience
2 - 4 years PQE minimum, with at least some of that experience focused on commercial and corporate matters. Candidates with more PQE will not be discounted
Experience working in-house advantageous
Some experience negotiating commercial contracts is essential
