About The Role


Experienced and motivated information technology manager responsible for overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently.




Key Duties and Responsibilities


• Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
• Overseeing the annual IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Manage information technology and computer systems
• Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems
• Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
• Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.
• Generating performance reports for operating systems.
• Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
• Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures
• Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
• Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets, information security, and control structures
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Delegates the authority for completing work assignments, guiding and monitoring team members and ensures the work is completed with quality on time
• Manages expectations of the team, provides constant feedback, identify training needs and ensure team objectives are aligned with department objectives.
• Responsible for conducting PM Reviews ensuring that objectives and development plans are addressed in a timely manner and that team members are motivated
• Works with the Hotel Management to identify information system enhancement needs. Plans, directs, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the IT Department at the property. Provides capital planning and operating budget support to the Hotel.
• Solves technical problems as reported by the users.
• Identifies opportunities for new policies and standard operating procedures and formulates draft documents for the line manager.
• Trains all computer users to fully understand how to operate their assigned computer equipment.
• Trains IT personnel who join the department and ensures a complete skill transfer to maintain continuity.
• Suggests areas of improvement and new initiatives to the executive team, with a focus on enhancing guest services, generating revenues, reducing costs, removing security risks, and developing colleagues' experience with I.T.
• Carries a company-provided smartphone with email access for emergency support after office hours/weekends / public holidays.
• Provides 24 / 7 emergency support for IT-related issues and escalates to senior managers as and when required.




Experience & Educational Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 + years of Hotel experience working in 5• Hotels.
• Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
• Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.


• Experience with Hotel Systems such as Opera Cloud, Symphony POS, etc.
• Broad experience with emerging industry and IT trends.
• Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange.
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results, on time and within budget. Demonstrated ability to manage vendors/suppliers.
