To coordinate with all stakeholders and implement the new credit risk management standards (CRMS). This includes reporting the gap analysis to the central bank and following up on action plans to address all the gaps. To take ownership of all risk reviews that need to be conducted by the Chief Risk Officer as per CRMS. To assist with the working of the distressed asset committee (DAC), including organizing meetings, documenting minutes, and following up on action points. Coordinate with teams to provide the necessary information to the Board as per requirements stated in CRMS. Co-ordinate the month-end provisions with finance and business teams. Assist in the governance of credit risk activities as a team, including central bank audits. Key Accountabilities
Policy and Procedures - review and implementation. Implementing the changes prescribed in CRMS. Actively assist in the review of policies and procedures pertaining to Credit Risk including credit risk framework and policy (CRFP), Special Assets management, Remedial Management, Delegated Authorities for Lending, Marine Finance, Risk Rating, Retail Banking, and other business areas as and when required. Review of credit proposals in line with CRMS Plan and review credit proposals, green light memos, and other documents that need to be reviewed by the Chief Risk Officer. Document the key issues and suggest recommendations to senior management and CRO. Tracking past dues, excess and other parameters : Establish, maintain & track triggers relating to credit risk for all the portfolios in the bank. These include Corporate, Financial Institutions, Treasury, and Retail. Disciplined monitoring of past dues, excess, expired reviews, and other relevant criteria is required. Highlight and elevate exceptions/variances to line manager. Assist with credit assurance reviews : Prepare a credit assurance plan for approval and adoption. Conduct credit assurance reviews through a sample from the credit proposals submitted by business and assessed by the credit team. Assist in the completion of the reviews in a thorough manner, including appropriate write-up covering key issues. Suggest amendments to policies and procedures based on the findings from credit assurance. Prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (Credit Risk) : Understand the tasks within the credit risk function and prepare a standard operating manual for the function. Suggest amendments to existing procedure and tasks to improve the overall efficiency for the department and also for the bank. Credit Risk Management Presentation : Assist in preparation of the monthly Credit Risk Management Presentation Reports for the review of the CCC, Risk Committee, and Board Risk and Sustainability Committee - under the guidance/supervision of Senior Manager Credit. Assist in preparing sector/industry exposures and highlight to SMC/CRO any excess or imminent excess against these or other regulatory limits pertaining to Credit Risk. Other Accountabilities
Audit Coordination : Provide consolidated updates to the Internal Audit Coordinator on outstanding Internal/External Audit action items. Provide assistance as required during the Central Bank of UAE examination. Provide assistance as required during the external audit. Risk Management MIS Reports including Board reporting : Preparation and finalization of the various MIS reports for the Risk Management Department including follow up with Finance MI for gathering of data and editing of the information for the report. Understand the reporting requirements to our Board based on CRMS and assist in complying with these. Credit provisions for the month and full year forecast : Coordinate with finance, special assets management, Remedial and business to finalize the monthly credit provisions. Work with finance to forecast the likely provisions for the year. Explore automating this report in the business information portal. Projects : Assist the credit risk team in credit risk-related projects that are envisaged by the Bank on an ongoing basis through meetings discussions with Business Units, vendors, and IT Dept officials. Distressed Asset Committee : Assist in conducting the meetings, writing the minutes and outcomes. Follow up on pending items and closure of open items is also a responsibility. Other Projects : Conduct/assist in the conduct of simulation/stress/testing/scenario analysis/use test - to be carried out periodically as per the framework developed and advised by CRO. Assist with the implementation of Platform X and its regular use. Job Context The candidate needs to be proactive in terms of managing work and prioritizing tasks. The quality of output in terms of content is critical. Taking ownership and initiative is one of the traits for the job. Education Graduate/Post Graduate in Finance Experience and Skills Education level Graduate where the degree covers finance and/or economics, OR Chartered Accountant Professional Qualifications No specific requirement. However, certification as Chartered Financial Analyst will be a positive. Work Experience Minimum 5-6 years of experience in the credit or risk department in a UAE bank. Overall banking experience of at least 15 years. Experience in Credit, and knowledge about credit policies is necessary. Prior experience in business or credit underwriting/approval, role is a necessary requirement. Excellent in Word, MS Excel, MS Office, and MS PowerPoint. Good analytical skills, communication (written and oral), and presentation skills.
