Manage the provision of inputs to the overall definition of quay utilization strategy (in co-ordination with Top Management) by understanding its design and impact on operational efficiency
2. Structure tasks and goals, establish efficient courses of action, set priorities, organize information and efficiently execute daily tasks with considerations to high productivity and efficient utilization of equipment and labour.
3. Oversees the confirmation of crane booking and updates of the number of quay cranes allocated to each vessel after it has been assigned a rotation number
4. Ensure that the safe gap is maintained between two adjacent vessels during berth allocations
5. Ensure maximum utilization of additional quay cranes and availability in real-time, including assignment to vessels based on priority and requirement
6. Manager Responses to agent requests for more cranes by Understanding that addition of more cranes will not always ensure faster movement of containers, since it might result in a significantly higher discharge rate for a small vessel, eventually resulting in yard congestion due to slower switcher movement and Understanding the impact on stowage and vessel
7. Manage the coordination and liaison with the vessel agents to understand any changes in vessel Expected Time of Arrival (ETA), and ensure accurate modification to the crane booking plans
8. Ensure that updates on daily basis are managed effectively by Superintendent and Supervisors including the latest ETA for all vessels scheduled to arrive in the next 42 hours (starting at 6am in morning till midnight of next day)
9. Ensure team coordination with the Yard and the Vessel Planners to understand the yard locations & the vessel details before berth allocation for the vessel
10. Ensure that the gang requirement is always optimized
