Job Description

Warehouse staff are responsible for various tasks that ensure smooth operations in a warehouse environment. Their key responsibilities typically include:

1. Receiving and Inspecting Goods

Unloading shipments from trucks or containers Checking received items against invoices or purchase orders Inspecting goods for damages and reporting discrepancies

2. Storing and Organizing Inventory

Labeling and tagging products for easy identification Placing items in designated storage areas (e.g., shelves, racks, bins) Keeping an updated inventory record

3. Order Picking and Packing

Retrieving items based on customer or internal orders Ensuring accurate item selection and proper packaging Preparing shipments for dispatch

4. Shipping and Dispatching Orders

Loading goods onto delivery trucks Coordinating with logistics providers or drivers Verifying that shipping documents are accurate

5. Inventory Management

Conducting regular stock counts and cycle counts Reporting low stock levels or discrepancies Assisting with stock replenishment

6. Equipment Handling and Maintenance

Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment Performing routine checks on equipment to ensure safety and efficiency Reporting any equipment malfunctions

7. Ensuring Safety and Cleanliness

Following workplace safety procedures and guidelines Keeping the warehouse clean and organized Wearing protective gear and adhering to company policies
