Job Description

Job Summary:

A Machine Electrician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment used in manufacturing or production processes. The role involves ensuring machines run efficiently, troubleshooting any issues, and performing regular maintenance to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup and Operation:

Set up and calibrate machinery for production runs based on job specifications. Operate machines according to safety and quality standards to ensure optimal production output. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform regular maintenance on machines to keep them in good working condition. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical or electrical issues in machinery and equipment. Replace worn-out parts, conduct repairs, and ensure machinery runs at peak efficiency. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols to avoid accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Ensure machinery complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure machines are properly cleaned after use. Quality Control and Monitoring: Monitor machine performance during production runs and adjust settings as needed. Inspect parts or products produced to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Perform routine tests and measurements to check machine performance and output. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of machine maintenance, repairs, and parts replacement. Report any machine malfunctions or recurring issues to management and suggest improvements. Document setup processes and production results for future reference. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and management to improve processes and resolve issues. Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate machine use and troubleshooting.

Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance work performed. Document parts and labor used, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately.

Safety and Cleanliness:

Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workshop. Keep the work area clean and organized, and ensure tools and equipment are in good condition.

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated with the latest machine technology and repair techniques. Attend training sessions and workshops as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in Electrical Machine repair is preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience as an machine/ electrical or in a similar role is highly desirable.

Skills:

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy parts, work in various conditions, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.

Work Environment:

May involve working in a company environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
