We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our educational team. The LSA will work closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to facilitate the learning process for students with diverse needs. This role requires patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and academic success for all students. Responsibilities:
Student Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with various learning needs, including but not limited to students with disabilities, learning difficulties, or language barriers.
Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students are able to fully participate in classroom activities.
Resource Development: Assist in the development and adaptation of instructional materials and resources to meet the specific needs of students, including visual aids, manipulatives, and assistive technology.
Behavioral Support: Support students in developing positive behaviors and social skills, and implement strategies to address challenging behaviors in the classroom environment.
Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians regarding academic performance, behavioral development, and any other relevant concerns.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure that the needs of students are being met and that appropriate support strategies are implemented.
Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal care tasks, as needed, to ensure the safety and well-being of students with disabilities or medical needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in education, psychology, special education, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
