Job Summary:The Logistics Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics of overseas shipments, working closely with Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) agents to ensure smooth import and export processes.This role involves coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with international trade regulations.Location: Abu DhabiKey Responsibilities:
Overseas Shipment Coordination: Plan and execute the shipment of goods to and from overseas locations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
C&F Agent Management: Liaise with C&F agents to oversee customs clearance, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met.
Freight Negotiation: Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines and freight forwarders to optimize costs.
Customs Documentation: Prepare and review shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
Track Shipments: Monitor the status of shipments in transit, coordinate with port authorities, and resolve delays or issues as they arise.
Inventory Management: Ensure the smooth movement of inventory between overseas suppliers and local warehouses, maintaining accurate records of stock levels.
Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics providers.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with international shipping regulations, import/export laws, and ensure compliance with relevant customs and trade regulations.
Cost Control: Monitor and report on logistics costs, looking for ways to reduce expenses while maintaining service quality.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with international shipments, such as delays, damages, or compliance issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, and finance teams to ensure smooth logistics operations aligned with business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing overseas shipments and working with C&F agents.
Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
