Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for efficient, cost effective, on time shipping and logistics solutions from and to our stores, ecommerce guest and strategic partners. This position also involves managing transportation vendors, logistics providers, carriers, ports operation and freight forwarders.
This role will ensure a strong understanding of the pipe transportation methods, Load optimization, port and vessels operation activities and industry compliance. The role also requires a good comprehension of company and departmental policies/procedures and internal controls. Exceptional Market knowledge and shipping experience are important aspects of this role.
Core Accountabilities:
• Identify strategic and tactical Logistics solution which deliver an agreed level of cost saving and safe operation in line with the current budgetary targets.
• Execute and support the Strategic logistics process phases including RFI's, RFQ's, Tenders, freight forwarders/ carriers/ and other logistics partners negotiations, preparation of business case recommendations, business award and contract management.
• Oversee outbound and inbound optimization and Logistics solutions which includes parceling solution, full load optimization and stowage plans for oversized cargo.
• Ensure that established shipping and transportation processes are followed.
• Review industry trends and data to help develop and implement more efficient transportation strategies.
• Analyze freight spend performance to look for breakthrough opportunities for cost reduction in specific areas of truckload, pipes nesting, load optimization, maximize parcel capacity pool distribution.
• Assist the Category Logistics and Services Manager to work with Delivery and logistics team members and cross-functionally to develop and implement cost reduction and service improvement projects.
• Develop and implement metrics to supervise and measure Service providers performance across the plants in a consistent way.
• Manage the Supplier and Service Provider base: perform quarterly business reviews with key freight forwarders/ carriers/ and other logistics partners or service providers and develop sourcing plans where required.
• Prepare a monthly management report on key procurement initiatives in progress and further opportunities identified, purchasing spend against budget, purchasing.
• savings achieved, freight forwarders/ carriers/ and other logistics partners and service provider performance and any significant market trends from quarterly business reviews.
• Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency

• Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to transportation, customs, and logistics.
• Ensure that the company's logistics operations adhere to legal and regulatory
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes and overall supply chain efficiency.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and analysis to identify areas for improvement
Working Conditions:
• This role requires working in both office and outside environments such as visiting ports and distribution centers with frequent travel to service providers.

• Academic/Educational Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

Required Skills/Experience:
+ 10+ years of professional experience in logistics management
+ Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Must have Strong working knowledge of shipping regulations and break-bulk operation, load optimization, Transportation and Warehouse Management Systems
+ Good customer service skills
+ Strong leadership skills by leading direct reports
+ Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
+ Ability to create and manage budgets
+ Must possess demonstrable skills/expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
+ Proficiency in using logistics and supply chain management software.
+ Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for managing production, inventory, and distribution.
+ Negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with freight forwarders, carriers, and other logistics partners.
+ Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet tight
+ Strong communication and presentation skills
+ Knowledge of customs clearance and compliance
+ Must be able to multitask and manage time in a constructive and efficient
+ Ability to travel domestically/internationally as needed.
