:Apt Resources is excited to offer the position of Livestock Stockman to join our prestigious royal family client farm in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and management of various livestock, ensuring their health, well-being, and productivity. You will work closely with the management team to implement best practices in livestock care while supporting the overall goals and standards of the Royal Palace.Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Animal Care and Welfare: Monitor the health and well-being of dairy cattle, identifying signs of illness or distress. Administer basic treatments or medications as directed by the veterinarian or farm manager. Assist with calving and provide care for newborn calves.
Feeding and Nutrition: Prepare and distribute feed and water based on the farm's nutrition plan. Ensure the quality of feed and proper storage of supplies.
Farm Maintenance: Clean and maintain animal housing and milking areas to uphold hygiene and prevent disease. Maintain equipment, tools, and machinery used in livestock care.
Milking Operations: Support the milking process by following proper procedures to ensure milk quality. Monitor milk yield and maintain accurate records of production data.
Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of animal health, treatments, feeding schedules, and production data. Report any observations or concerns to the farm manager promptly.
Breeding Assistance: Assist with breeding programs, including artificial insemination and heat detection. Record breeding data and monitor pregnancy progress.
Compliance and Safety: Follow all farm policies, safety regulations, and animal welfare standards. Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Proven experience in livestock management, preferably with a focus on large animals such as cattle, sheep, or horses.
Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field is highly desirable.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in livestock husbandry or related roles.
Strong knowledge of animal health, behavior, and welfare practices.
Experience in record-keeping and data management related to livestock.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently.
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Benefits:AED 2000 to 2500 basic salary plus free accommodation and food. All other benefits as per UAE laws
