The Linux system administrator will perform all administration and maintenance tasks for approximately 200+ Red Hat Linux servers including planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring.
The Red Hat clustering suite (including GFS) will be maintained and operated.
The administrator will allocate storage for operating systems and applications.
The systems will be patched and maintained at the proper security benchmark level. Middleware software installations will be performed.
The administrator will manage servers in the client data center and headquarters locations.
Evaluate and propose new or improved system architecture.
Tune and optimize existing server and application performance by identifying potential hardware and software enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software problems, work with vendors as necessary.
Work closely with an existing team of skilled systems administrators and mentor junior members
