The Lifting Supervisor / Rigging Foreman will oversee lifting operations on-site, ensuring that all lifting activities are carried out safely and in compliance with project standards, industry regulations, and best practices. This position requires expertise in lifting procedures, rigging, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all lifting operations, including selection of suitable lifting equipment and gear.
• Ensure that lifting operations are conducted safely and in compliance with local and international safety standards.
• Review and approve lifting plans and ensure they are adhered to during lifting activities.
• Inspect lifting gear and equipment regularly to confirm they are in good working condition and meet project standards.
• Conduct site assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with lifting operations.
• Train and guide riggers and other lifting personnel on safe practices and correct use of lifting equipment.
• Work closely with site engineers, crane operators, and riggers to ensure efficient coordination of lifting tasks.
• Enforce safety standards, including wearing of PPE and adherence to safety guidelines during lifting activities.
• Prepare and submit reports related to lifting activities, safety inspections, and any incidents.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and problem-solving for lifting-related issues.
Requirements:
• Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent. Certifications in rigging and lifting (e.g., Lifting Supervisor Course, Rigging certification) are preferred.
• Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in lifting and rigging operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Skills : Proficient in interpreting lifting plans and selecting suitable lifting equipment. Knowledge of lifting equipment, slings, shackles, and crane operations.
• Safety Knowledge : Familiarity with safety regulations, lifting standards, and industry guidelines (e.g., LOLER, OSHA).
• Communication Skills : Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Problem Solving : Strong analytical and decision-making skills in managing lifting activities.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working on oil and gas or construction projects.
• Knowledge of local regulations and safety standards related to lifting and rigging.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stakes environments.
Physical Requirements:
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physically fit to handle the demands of the role, including lifting, carrying, and moving equipment as needed.
