The Role
The lifeguard is responsible for overseeing the safety of guests in and around the hotel's swimming pools, beaches, or other aquatic facilities. They must be vigilant, knowledgeable about water safety, and ready to respond effectively to any emergencies.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
Monitor Pool and Aquatic Areas:
Supervise all swimming and water-related activities to ensure guest safety.
Regularly scan the pool and surrounding areas to identify any hazards or potentially dangerous situations.
Enforce Safety Rules:
Enforce hotel and pool rules to prevent accidents and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for guests.
Provide guidance and information to guests about water safety and proper pool usage.
Respond to Emergencies:
Act immediately and appropriately in the event of an emergency, such as a drowning or injury.
Administer first aid or CPR if necessary and coordinate with medical professionals or emergency services when needed.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that all lifeguard equipment, such as rescue tubes, first aid kits, and AEDs, is in good working condition.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with inquiries, helping with pool amenities, and ensuring a pleasant experience.
Address any guest concerns or complaints related to pool or water activities in a professional manner.
Training and Certification:
Maintain current lifeguard certification, including CPR, first aid, and AED training.
Participate in regular training sessions and drills to enhance skills and preparedness for emergencies.
